Kickstart Your Fundraising in 2019!
The season for mince pies, mulled wine and over indulgence has passed and we’re faced with a fresh start in 2019; it's set to be a good one for you lucky CAUKIN volunteers.
BUT, before you can try learning a new language, immerse in a different culture, hike through a jungle, or give building a go, you have to smash your fundraising campaign challenge.
We know what you’re thinking: ‘how can I get people to support my fundraising efforts when they have the post holiday blues and have indulged in possibly the most expensive month of the year?’. Now is the time to jump on the ‘new year new me’, ‘get fit’, ‘get healthy’ train, and use other peoples resolutions to help you reach your target before they get off the train.
Perhaps your resolution is to be more active this year? A great way to fundraise is through sponsored runs, cycles, walks, climbs, you name it. Training alongside a friend with the same resolutions can help you stay motivated and is an easy way to get them to support your fundraising challenge through their friends and family too.
If fitness really isn't your thing, then you can try less cardio-intensive ways of sponsored fundraising, such as going alcohol free for a month, giving a new diet a go or skipping caffeine for 31 days. Doing something that you didn't even think you could do always encourages people to get behind you!
Just remember to consider cost and time. The event or challenge needs to be worth the return, you don't want to spend all the money you raise on the challenge itself - so choose something that grabs peoples attention but is easy on your wallet and get the word out there as much as you can!
Cake & Snack Sale / Sponsored Dinner Party
Not a big fan of the ‘new year, new me’ health trend for yourself? Why not try a cake or healthy snack sale, aimed at those who are! Cater (pun intended) your sales to your target audience. Perhaps a natural protein snack or smoothie sale outside your local gym, or a lunchtime boost treat at your nearest business park.
Dinner parties can be the perfect January fundraiser. Why not put on a seasonal dinner party where your friends and family pay for the food with the extra going towards your fundraising campaign? Pots, soups or stews can be a cheap but effective way to deliver big taste for a small price, meaning you'll top your fundraiser up a healthy amount!
Give It A Go
Perhaps your version of getting fit is walking from the sofa to the front door to collect your takeaway, or healthy eating means eating 2 dairy milks instead of 5. Don't panic though, there's plenty of other ways to raise money. Sponsored Events don't have to be fitness based; you can do ‘crafternoons’ where you make and sell anything from bars of soap to candles. Dinner parties don't have to revolve around food; why not try a board game evening or a sponsored quiz afternoon instead?
